The National Trust of Georgia, with the support of the British Embassy, announces the contest “My Heritage” for citizens of Georgia.

The aim of the contest is to promote and raise public awareness of individuals who share a deep appreciation for heritage and recognize the need for its preservation and promotion as a tangible expression of national identity and creativity


If you care for, protect, and preserve Georgia’s cultural heritage, you are welcome to participate in the contest. Winners will receive minor cash prizes.

The “My Heritage” contest includes four categories:

  1. Preservation, adaptation, or conservation of a building or its part;

  2. Restoration and preservation of movable cultural heritage items, such as artworks on canvas, paper, or wood, as well as items made of glass, ceramic, metal, textiles, and other materials;

  3. Preservation and sharing of traditional crafts, materials, artisanal skills, or recipes;

  4. Preservation, research, and transmission of traditional knowledge, folklore, oral histories, or family traditions.

We will provide more detailed information about each category in upcoming posts.

The winners will be selected by a jury composed of professionals working in the field of cultural heritage. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted no later than April 25.

The “My Heritage” contest was first launched by the National Trust of Georgia in 2019 with the support of the British Embassy. Past winners included residents from Racha, Samtskhe-Javakheti, and Kakheti regions.
